Enid Schoeman

Enid Schoeman is the Founder and Principal Administrator of Thembela Administrators (Pty) Ltd, a Pretoria-based specialist fiduciary practice dedicated exclusively to the administration of court-ordered trusts arising from Road Accident Fund and Medical Negligence settlements.

Enid established Thembela Administrators in 2022 after identifying a persistent and troubling gap in South Africa’s legal-financial ecosystem. Throughout her professional career working alongside beneficiaries, social workers, and the legal fraternity, she observed that while personal injury attorneys were successfully securing life-changing settlements for victims of road accidents and medical negligence, the subsequent management of those funds too often lacked the personal care, technical rigour, and proactive advocacy that beneficiaries deserved. Thembela was built to close that gap — to ensure that the recovery does not end when the court order is signed, but begins there.

What distinguishes Enid’s approach from that of the large financial institutions that dominate the trust administration sector is her deeply human understanding of what a court-ordered trust actually represents. Behind every file on her desk is a real person — a child who needs specialised schooling, a parent who requires home modifications to regain independence, or a victim who will need lifelong medical care. Her background in working with vulnerable individuals and families informs every aspect of how Thembela operates, from the face-to-face onboarding visits conducted at the beneficiary’s home, to the 24-hour medical emergency line that is answered by a real person who knows each client by name.

Under Enid’s leadership, Thembela Administrators has established itself as a trusted partner to the personal injury and medical negligence legal fraternity in Gauteng. The firm serves attorneys and families across South Africa from its Pretoria base, with the majority of clients currently in the Johannesburg and Gauteng area. Thembela is a proud member of the Fiduciary Institute of Southern Africa (FISA), operates in full compliance with the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FIC), and takes out Bond Surety insurance for every trust administered — providing the institutional-grade protection that attorneys and courts require.

Enid’s specialist expertise spans the full lifecycle of RAF and Medical Negligence trust administration, with particular depth in Section 17(4)(a) Undertaking management — the proactive recovery of qualifying medical costs from the Road Accident Fund that ensures trust capital is continuously replenished rather than silently depleted. Her team’s Capital Recharge system, which captures, verifies, and recovers qualifying medical expenses from the RAF on an ongoing basis, represents one of the most meaningful ways Thembela protects the long-term financial futures of the beneficiaries in its care.

Enid is supported by a team of dedicated Black South African female colleagues and social work professionals who share her commitment to combining legal precision with genuine personal care. Together they form the “Thembela Village” — a collaborative network of fiduciary, social work, medical, and financial professionals working in unison to protect the whole life of every beneficiary, not just the balance of their trust account.
